Developmental Intern - Data Analytics

Summary

The Data Analytics Intern will assist in the day-to-day functioning of the Data Analytics Group. This includes working with other data analysts, integration developers, and data administrators to develop analytic solutions in alignment with NYPA's digital utility goal.  Solutions will be developed to analyze data from;

- NYPA business systems including SAP and Maximo

- NYPA transmission/generation data including PMUs, PI data, and sensor data- Commercial Operations data including meter reading data, energy marketing data

- Financial and Audit related data

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

-Knowledge of statistical analytic concepts

-Familiar with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts

-Knowledge of Data Integration and high volume time series data processing

 Skills:

-Utilization of analytic tools and programming like Python or R

-Utilization of visualization tools such as Tableau,Power BI and others

-Familiar with working with both data on Prem and data on Cloud

-Effectively work with IT professionals, data scientists, engineers, financial and business professionals

 Abilities:

-Effectively work with analytic and visualization tools

-Communication and business writing skills

-Effectively use the latest technology to solve business problems

-Ability to ask questions and quickly learn data analytic concepts and new technologies

Education, Experience and Certifications

Technical Competencies:

-Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and programming languages like Python and R.

-Familiar with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts

-Familiar with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI

-Knowledge of Visio will be helpful.
