- Exploring how hydropower, energy efficiency, electric vehicles and more exciting initiatives are changing the power industry
- Seeing firsthand what it’s like to work for New York State, including exposure to labor unions and collective bargaining agreements
- Learning about NYPA’s commitment to New York State citizens and the communities where our generation facilities are hosted
- Visiting the Blenheim-Gilboa power project to see up close how our power is made and how important pumped storage is to reliable electricity in New York
- Gaining a foundation on the energy regulations that govern our industry

Responsibilities
Assist in the day to day functioning of Data Services Group. This includes assisting data analysts, integration developers and data administrators to manage data acquisition platform and to develop integrations to collect and analyze data from;
- NYPA business systems including SAP and Maximo
- NYPA transmission data including PMUs and sensors
- Commercial Operations data including the New York Energy Manager
- Financial and Audit related data
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skills::
Utilization of high-performance distributed systems like Spark and NoSQL
Utilization of Integration tools or ETL tools, AWS API Gateway and Kinesis
Utilization of visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
How to effectively work with IT professionals, data scientists, engineers, financial and business professionals
Knowledge::
Participate in a real world implementation of Data Analytics Platform
Knowledge of Data Integration and high volume real-time data processing
Knowledge of the analytical requirements of a large utility
Abilities:
How to work with Spark, Python and Data integration tools
Communications and business writing skills
How to effectively use the latest technology to solve business problems
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Technical Competencies:
Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and any programming language.
Knowledge of Visio will be helpful.
