Developmental Intern - Engineering Project Management

Location: White Plains, NY, US

This select 12-week paid Internship program begins June 2019 and ends August 2019.

Summary

 

Intern will assist Project Engineer and Consultants on the Communications Backbone Project, under the supervision of a mentor.  Upon successful completion of the internship, the intern is expected to be trained for full-time employment at the Authority within Project Management, Engineering or IT/OT.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities the intern will walk away with after this internship

 

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with project management principles
  • Understanding of engineering drawing standards

 

Skills:

  • Documentation preparation for RFQs
  • Report preparation
  • Understand budgeting and scheduling requirements for projects

 

Abilities:

  • Work within a team environment
  • To coordinate multiple activities

Education, Experience and Certifications

 

Technical Competencies:

  • General principles of electrical, civil and mechanical engineering
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • SharePoint
  • General knowledge of project and construction management techniques

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Willingness to take direction
  • Punctual
  • Self-starting and motivated

 

Education Background:

  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior towards a BS/Electrical Engineering
