Site Buyer II

Summary
The Site Buyer II is a critical role within the Strategic Supply Management (SSM) department. Reporting to the Site Manager, this position will facilitate the execution of the Transactional Procurement function for each site facility, drive goals for buying channel utilization, and execute the sites procure to pay process. The Site Buyers will also develop and maintain relationships with peers in other NYPA functions who are customers of SSM, with emphasis at each specific site location.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement and provide realized savings to NYPA by applying transactional procurement leading practices.
- Procure material, goods and services for efficient daily plant operations
- Monitor and manage procurement transactions initiatives in coordination with all Site Buyers.
- Maintain accuracy and compliance in use of systems, monitor and promote analysis-based decision making, compliance and reduce discrepancies in reporting procedures and operating processes.
- Execute payment processing for pertinent site.
- Collaborate and foster deep connections with business partners, other site managers and stakeholders to ensure SSM is a valued partner in pertinent business decisions
- Communicate with all suppliers, review requests, and resolve issues related to payment processing

- Ability to work across all business units and build trusted and collaborative relationships with senior executives to achieve results.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment while delivering solid action-oriented results quickly.
- Exceptional organization skills required to ensure consistent compliance with established policies, practices and regulations.
- Advanced analytical skills, with ability to lead others to understand market dynamics and customer/client needs.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management concepts in procurement, receiving, supplier relationship management, and equipment management, and ability to demonstrate mastery in several of these areas.
- Strong knowledge of the Power Utility services and equipment categories and/or supply market – preferred
- Functional skills using SAP and other related systems and solutions – preferred
Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain & Operations Management, or related field
- 1 year professional experience in Procurement, Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain Management.
- 1 year experience in the Utilities industry – preferred
