Developmental Intern - Mechanical Maintenance

Location: BlenhmGilboa, NY, US

This select 12-week paid internship program begins June 2019 and ends August 2019.

Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance intern will help support the Mechanical Maintenance department at the Blenheim-Gilboa Power Project. 

Duties and responsibilities:

- Support Mechanical Maintenance with RCM by linking spare parts in Maximo and verifying proper manuals are attached to Assets.

- Identify Assets within the plant, verify proper information is attached and attach photos.

- Review all greases and oils that are stock items, verify that they are associated with an Asset and develop a spreadsheet for craft use.

- Assist with Lubrication testing program development and refinement.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities the intern will walk away with after this internship

Knowledge: After this experience the intern will have a better understanding of how to read industrial prints and understand the basic operation of a hydro-electric plant and its inner workings.  Will learn the importance of lubrication for industrial systems by supporting the Project Lead with the program.

 

Skills: Better understanding of Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Maximo, and soft skills such as developing leadership skills, and incorporating job experience with college experience.

 

Abilities: After this experience the intern will have a better understanding of what is entailed to lead a team during a project and better manage team members.

 

Education, Experience and Certifications

Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or related program.  Junior year completed preferred.
