Summary
Under direct supervision the Building and Grounds Attendent keeps a prescribed area in a clean and orderly condition, performing any combination of duties involved in cleaning the premises.
Responsibilities
- Clean washrooms, furniture and other building cleaning
- Move office furniture, equipment and supplies when called upon
- Performs duties in the maintenance of project grounds
- Keep public area sidewalks clear of debris and snow
- Dispose of trash and other waste materials
- Mow lawns using hand or power mowers
- Spread fertilizer, trim hedges and shrubbery, prune trees, maintain ditches and road embankments
- Perform general cleanup work along roads and parking area
- Perform all types of common labor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Should have knowledge of building cleaning and grounds maintenance

Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $22.19 per hour.
