Summary
This dynamic role involves the performance of all types of drafting assignments in support of the Niagara Power Project.
Responsibilities
- Perform limited amount of original designs.
- Work with and assist engineers and designers on more advanced problems.
- Work from oral and written instructions, marked prints, sketches and other source documents.
- Perform routine calculations and detail materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work.
- May gather information and data for the job, take and record field measurements.
- Instruct, guide and check the work of drafters in lower classification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Completely familiar with routine engineering formula, reference books and proper use of materials.
- Must know standard shop and field practices as relates to the actual manufacture and construction of the work for the drawings being prepared.
- Capable of directing Drafters in lower classifications.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Two years experience as Drafter B or equivalent
Two-year technical degree in related field required

Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $41.97 per hour.
