Summary
The Associate Project Development Analyst will be responsible for helping to support the analysis, planning and implementation of power generation and transmission projects, by assisting in performing complex analyses, including transmission planning, production cost modeling and financial modeling analyses. #LI-AV1
Responsibilities
- Perform timely research and analysis to identify and evaluate market opportunities and optimize project structure and implementation.
- Analyze policy or projects at various stages of implementation using power flow and economic modeling methods.
- Build energy and financial models and sensitivities to evaluate new or existing business functions.
- Conduct electric utility and industry research to identify key trends and program opportunities.
- Identify, quantify, utilize, and extract data to prepare Excel reports, valuation analysis, and assist in design presentations for leadership review to support department goals.
- Project coordination with peers, other internal departments and external organizations to support the day-to-day activities of this effort.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of power systems modeling.
- Knowledge of the energy industry and energy markets.
- Ability to use production cost modeling tools (preferably GE-MAPS).
- Strong communication skills including business writing and verbal presentation abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaborative teams.
- Ability to interface and effectively communicate with senior management.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or the equivalent required.
- Experience in power systems modeling, production cost, energy or financial modeling is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Limited travel, primarily within New York State
- Valid Driver’s License
