Customer Service Support Assistant (Provisional)

Summary
Provides efficient and cost-effective office support operations to the NYPA enterprise. Ensures NYPA information assets are protected, accessible and supports business needs.
Provides support for efficient office management like copy/print services, mailroom services, shipping & receiving, reprographics and executive driving. Manages office supply inventory, prepares purchase orders, and processes/delivers office supply requests.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance or support for the efficient and effective management and operation of the organization's activities and daily functioning
- Maintain office files and records in accordance with internal procedures
- May update internal website information as requested
- Receive and refer visitors and telephone callers
- Respond to routine requests for information and refer more complicated requests to appropriate staff members
- Open and distribute mail. Respond with form letters to routine requests.
- Draft and type routine letters and memoranda from specific instructions
- Assemble relevant data and compile information as directed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of software used for spreadsheets, presentations, email and word processing
- Familiarity with financial and database software preferred
- Working knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar & punctuation
- Verbal and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of internal and external people
- Aptitude to organize, multi-task and be detail oriented
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to assist with project planning and coordination
- Ability to manage time efficiently to undertake a variety of assignments
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma, GED certificate required
- Valid driver's license required
- May require certifications and licensures needed to meet Energy industry, federal, state, or local regulations
- Minimum 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at desk for long durations of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
