Developmental Intern - SharePoint Analyst

Responsibilities

The intern will join the SharePoint Development team to support several ongoing critical projects. Currently there is high workload for SharePoint team with limited staff.  The intern will be an active team member, assisting in regular SharePoint 2013 development requests along with migration path for SharePoint Online. NYPA is heading towards Digital experience and the SharePoint team has been requested to move to Office 365 so that users can access their information from any place and any device.  This will be a significant implementation as we have large volume of data and several complex custom applications are built on SharePoint 2013 which requires evaluation and determine the best migration path. This effort would require more additional staff and Intern will be the perfect augment to support the team.

The intern will develop an overall knowledge of the development methodologies and tools (SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Online, Nintex Forms/Workflow) used in improving business processes, will enhance their communication, analytical and presentation skills, and will strengthen their business accumen as he/she becomes more familiar with business processes, business organization, policy and procedure.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with competing priorities
•Collaborative and team orientated
•Customer-focused especially when dealing with vendors and internal clients

Education, Experience and Certifications

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Technical Competencies (including computer applications):   

  • Experience with SharePoint 2013, SharePoint online
  • Ability to design and code using technologies like JQuery, PowerShell, SharePoint Framework, Nintex Forms and Workflows
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of Visio also helpful. 

Behavioral Competencies:    

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  •  Effective communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Good listening and analytical skills.
  •  Ability to draw information from others in a non-invasive manner.
