Functional Technical Analyst II

Summary

The Functional Technology Analyst will support, test and optimize the systems utilized by the Strategic Supply Management (SSM) functions. These systems include SAP ECC, SAP Ariba, SAP SLP, SharePoint and Teams, as well as other solutions available to the Team.  The Analyst will directly support the SSM team members, providing excellent customer service while resolving any technical or process issues independently.   The Analyst will support end users with technical issues related to our systems and will work collaboratively with the IT team members who support key SSM applications to define, recommend and test IT solutions. 

 

Analyzes business problems and proposes technology solutions through core business and functional analysis and understanding of system design under the direction of senior analysts and management. Documents functional requirements and translate requirements into technology solutions. Always provide improved user experiences and offer self-service tools to users. Configures the business systems as per NYPA business processes and needs. Proposes customizations if necessary. Troubleshoots and resolves issues of business systems’ users. Trains and creates instructional materials for end-users on system features and their usage. #LI-VB1

Responsibilities

  • Monitor information needs and modify existing systems to meet changing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations on protecting data.
  • Maintain the organization structure for the system which supports the function of all the modules
  • Utilize technical knowledge of the System to work with the IT staff to maintain and upgrade the system.
  • Ensure data are maintained in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Liaison between all of the sites and headquarters . Provide  help desk support for  system functions.
  • Train personnel on system procedures and reporting
  • Provide analysis and reports in response to specific requests on ad hoc and periodic basis 
  • Generate monthly retrieval of summary reports, changes, and trends for use by management,
  • Ensure access to the data conforms to the various Federal and State laws and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of the Organization Structure of Ability to create and maintain organization objects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Report generation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Develop and produce data reports, exports and charts for analysis.
  • Ability to work comfortably with all levels and all areas of the organization.
  • Ability to handle competing tasks while remaining organized is required
  • Ability to observe confidentiality.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.  Business Management, Information Management, Statistics, Engineering, or similar
  • 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Limited travel (up to 10%) required primarily to our generating facilities.  
  • Overnight travel to the various NYPA locations within New York State.

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is:  $84,380.00 - $116,010.00. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
