Integrated Media & Marketing Specialist

Summary

The Integrated Media and Marketing (IMM) team helps lead efforts that communicate the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Canals mission, vision and values to employees and the public. The IMM specialist helps ensure that NYPA and Canals' messaging and content inspires and strengthens trust, understanding, and engagement so that audiences can connect with NYPA’s innovative vision to achieve New York State’s clean energy, resiliency and economic development goals. The IMM specialist also develops, recommends and helps implement communications strategies to advance the Power Authority’s programs.  They support internal and external communication goals by conceptualizing, writing and editing a full range of print, exhibitory, and digital media copy.  They also work with the business units to identify communications opportunities and build communication strategies. #LI-CJ1

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned projects from inception to successful completion for NYPA and Canals, with guidance.
  • Maintain editorial calendars, scheduling tools and other monitoring platforms, ensuring excellent integrated communication across all NYPA/Canals channels.
  • Assist in creating new and exciting communications aimed to engage employees, build trust and reinforce mission, vision and values.
  • Develop, write and edit copy for a variety of end products.
  • Work with NYPA and Canals communications specialty teams to ensure cohesive, timely and strategic online messaging. Ensure a holistic and integrated communication approach is being utilized.
  • Help create a collaborative, flexible, friendly and approachable team dynamic – with client services and relationship-building being a top priority.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong editing experience.
  • Extremely flexible client services provider, focused on managing best outcomes based on client needs and communications best practices.
  • Proven editorial content planning and execution skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to identify, investigate and execute opportunities for content development.
  • Team-oriented and able to work with and across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Preferred Skills: Knowledge of web and digital programs, i.e. Microsoft SharePoint, basic design skills, newsletter programs, etc,

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 4 years corporate communications, journalism, marketing or agency experience preferred 

Physical Requirements

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $78,000- $107,800. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
