Lead IT Performance & Monitoring Analyst

The Lead Performance & Monitoring Analyst is responsible for engineering, configuration, and integration services that support the Automation, Monitoring, and Performance function (AMP). This position requires practical knowledge of complex IT environments and evolving technologies. #LI-JP1

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT technical projects.
  • Develop/code technology solutions to support ITSM strategies and business requirements. Install, configure, and maintain APM tools for enterprise applications and infrastructure, and integrate across all individual applications for an end-to-end perspective of performance and monitoring.
  • Work closely with internal partners, external vendors, and business teams to provide infrastructure and applications with the necessary data for analysis, metrics, and trends..
  • Debug/Triage various challenges incurred by Application teams integrating with APM tools.
  • Guide various teams in the use of Application Performance Monitoring to best uplift both development and production operations.
  • Perform Product and OS upgrades for the platform during maintenance windows.
  • Setup/Build dashboards that summarize enterprise application and infrastructure performance trends (Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports). Collaborate with Application/Ops/Engineering teams to configure custom dashboards/alerts/reports as needed.
  • Monitor responsiveness and availability of critical enterprise applications from an end-user perspective
  • Setup up alert mechanism to notify application/infrastructure teams of deviations from the defined threshold and integrate with tools like ServiceNow for incident creation and tracking.Confer with subject matter experts to understand the current monitoring mechanism, identify gaps, and recommend industry best practices.
  • Make effective use of monitoring tools to improve root cause analysis effectiveness and correlation of events
  • Manage day-to-day monitoring activities
  • Provide technical advisement and updates in all areas of performance and monitoring environment to senior team members and management.
  • Guide, coach and mentor junior team members.
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring Tools (OpManger strongly preferred), IT ticketing Systems (ServiceNow strongly preferred), and Log Management Analytics (Splunk strongly preferred)
  • Understand standard systems including VMWare ESX, AIX, Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, and MS SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as .NET, Python.
  • Extensive knowledge in Service Management and Service Delivery.
  • Knowledge of SQL and understanding of SQL scripts.
  • Exposure to Automation and Orchestration Platforms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to Reporting and Dashboarding.
  • Excellent process improvement skills in multiple infrastructure and applications areas.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented with a keen technical mind, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Ability to engage in communication with and provide technical advisement to senior management
     

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in an IT-related discipline preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure or IT service delivery
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring Tools (OpManager strongly preferred), IT ticketing Systems (ServiceNow strongly preferred), and Log Management Analytics (Splunk strongly preferred).
  • Experience in various IT service functions, including one or more of the following: network, data center, system administration, DBA, Applications, Middleware, different cloud solutions, cyber security, desktop, helpdesk, etc.
  • Experience implementing application integrations through standard protocols such as REST, SOAP, JDBC, PowerShell, SSH.
  • Experience in supporting SaaS applications.
  • Experience leading or managing IT technical projects.
