Summary
Responsibilities
- Manage full recruitment lifecycle,
- Partner with hiring managers and HR Business partners to understand business plans, workforce planning strategies, and staffing needs in order to provide quality candidates and top-notch customer service.
- Source and develop a pipeline of active and passive job seekers using networking, professional organizations, direct sourcing and referrals.
- Devise and execute strategic initiatives to recruit and retain top university, mid-career, and experienced talent.
- External spokesperson for NYPA advancing the brand across numerous markets and professional communities.
- Form partnerships with schools and universities to recruit graduating students and alumni.
- Lead and develop recruitment team. Provide coaching, feedback, and development to support each individual's development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, practices, procedures, and diversity recruitment strategies.
- Ability to form strong relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization and with external candidates, vendors, and schools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Maintains a high level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism around confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment, and navigating ambiguity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Applicant Tracking System (ATS), social media networks, and MS Office with an ability to learn and implement new systems and technologies.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; recruiting experience preferred.
- Experience as a team or project lead.
Physical Requirements
Up to 5% travel primarily within NY State. May be required to attend functions outside of normal business hours.
The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $129,000 - $177,100. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
