Senior Recruiter

Summary

The Senior Recruiter reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager and will effectively execute all aspects of the recruiting process. The Senior Recruiter is part of a team that develops and executes methods of attracting, identifying, assessing and selecting top talent for the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners as a trusted advisor, to understand business needs and strategies
  • Own and drive the full lifecycle recruiting process across multiple functions from screening to closing
  • Develop innovative and proactive sourcing/marketing strategies to attract top, diverse industry talent
  • Manage projects that impact the enterprise as we optimize the talent acquisition operating model
  • Partner on the design and implementation of diversity recruiting strategies that enable NYPA to substantially increase hires from underrepresented groups 
  • Consistently work to ensure Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across our interview processes and employee experience
  • Partner with the Environmental Justice team on community initiatives surrounding STEM education
  • Leverage existing technology to maximize efficiency and identify new technologies to enhance the team’s performance and participate in special projects and other duties as requested
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to form strong relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization and with external candidates, vendors, and core schools
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on asking questions and listening to understand
  • Experience managing competing priorities, multiple projects simultaneously and/or projects involving cross-functional/team alignment
  • Experience as a diversity recruiter/sourcer in building diverse pipelines and attracting diverse talent
  • Excellent interviewing, selection and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail with time management, multitasking and communications skills; ability to keep key stakeholders and contributors aligned and coordinated
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment
  • Extensive knowledge of State and Federal Employment regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum seven (7) years demonstrated full cycle recruitment related experience from development of a recruiting strategy and creative recruitment solutions for highly specialized, difficult to fill positions, with at least (2) two years within an in-house corporate recruiting function
  • Experience working on talent related projects and initiatives
Physical Requirements

Approximately 10% travel primarily within NY State to NYPA facilities, Job Fairs and Campus recruiting events.
