Sr Travel Coordinator

Summary
Full-Service Travel Agency handling efficient and cost-effective domestic and international travel requests for the NYPA enterprise including air/ground transportation, lodging and/or vehicle rental arrangements for an individual or group of travelers. Responsible for the coordination of off-site meetings/retreats for groups in accordance with Travel and Accounting policies and procedures. #LI-VB1
Responsibilities
- Process travel accomodations (air, train, hotel, car rentals) through Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) for approved travel requests in a cost effective, timely manner in accordance with Corporate Travel and Accounting policies and procedures; distribute itineraries and completed reservation information to employees.
- Assess unexpected travel complications and/or issues and identify a solution in a timely manner.
- Provide back-up itineraries and receipts for travel inquiries related to expense reporting.
- Understand business relationships between key stakeholders, travel industry contacts, and NYS agencies, e.g., Office of General Services (OGS).
- Assist business units/departments with the coordination of group/off-site meetings and/or events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Very good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Very good organizational and planning skills.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines and provide a high level of customer service.
- General understanding of OGS/GSA rules and regulations.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the travel industry preferred.
- Proficiency with Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) required.
Physical Requirements
Minimal travel to NYPA sites, vendor properties and OGS Albany for program administration as needed.

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
