Temporary Associate Supplier Relationship Specialist

Summary

The Temporary Associate Supplier Relationship Specialist plays a vital role executing communication and business relationships management with external suppliers.  Reporting to the Supplier Relationship Manager, this position will execute strategies for the Supplier Management function.  This position will be responsible to ensure NYPA operates in a strategic and goal oriented manner by enabling the goals of the Supplier Relationship Management by being the primary owner of day-to-day activities. #LI-VB1

Responsibilities

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Provide support in the execution of the SRM function. providing process improvement and saving to NYPA.
  • Collaborate on the day to day operations of the SRM group according to strategies, playbook and initiatives.
  • Provide assistance to other business units in the usage of Ariba Supplier Performance and Information Management (SIPM) system.
  • Assist in supporting SRM technologies, including but not limited to Ariba SIPM.
  • Assist business partners to set and monitor improvement programs for the suppliers in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Provide assistance onboarding and integrating suppliers onto NYPA procurement technologies.
  • Assist in providing supplier performance metrics reporting, evaluation criteria, and scorecard results.
  • Support the SRM leadership in preparing the supplier segmentation analysis.
  • Maintain Supplier master data management system.

Category Management

  • Assist in evaluating the supplier capabilities with respect to expertise, industry, capacity, quality, operating model, financial stability, strategic positioning in the market, etc., to support category strategy development and sourcing.

Contract Management

  • Provide support on the day to day operations and communications with the Contract Management Team on contracts compliance, monitoring adherence, and supplier performance. Compare contract terms and agreements against the supplier’s performance related variables and report/raise as necessary.  Report on any discrepancies to the Supplier Relationship Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and a proficiency and literacy in desktop computing is required.
  • General understanding of procurement processes is required.
  • Ability to work across functions and build trusted and collaborative relationships with management across all business units and suppliers to achieve results.
  • General understanding of supply chain management concepts in procurement, receiving, supplier relationship management, and equipment management.
  • General understanding of electronic scorecard, Supplier information, and Performance management system.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Management, or similar.

Minimum two (2) years experience in a procurement organization, clearly exposed to and performing Strategic Sourcing and/or Supplier Relationship Management.

Minimum 1 year experience in the Utilities industry preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Office location: White Plains, NY
  • Travel requirements: <10%, may travel among sites from time to time, and potentially attend the more critical meetings that may take place at supplier locations.
